Jahangirnagar University (abbreviated as JU) is a public research university located in Savar, Dhaka in Bangladesh. It was established in 1970 by the Jahangirnagar Muslim University Ordinance of the Pakistani Government, which was amended after the independence of Bangladesh to form Jahangirnagar University.

Jahangirnagar University offers undergraduate and graduate programs in various disciplines, including Arts, humanities, social science, natural science, business studies, and engineering. The university has produced many alumnus over the years.

The university has several research institutes, including the Institute of Business administration, the Institute of Information technology, and the Institute of Environmental science. It also has a number of research centers, such as the Center for Advanced Research in Humanities, the Center for Advanced Research in Biological Sciences, and the Center for Advanced Research in Social Sciences.

It is the fourth oldest generalized public university in Bangladesh. Also, it has fourth largest university campus in Bangladesh.
